 On February 2, 2023, ICSA President and Head Coach of Old Dominion University Mitch Brindley was named recipient of the Nathanael G. Herreshoff Trophy. The Herreshoff Trophy is US Sailing’s most prestigious award. After being donated by the National Marine Manufactuer’s Association in 1957, this award is given out annually to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the sport of sailing in the United States in any associated activity.  


10 college sailing teams from across the country arrived Friday to San Diego Yacht Club for the 2022 College Sailing Match Race National Championship. Jack Egan ‘25, Nicholas Davies ‘24, Megan Grimes ‘24 and Christophe Chaumont ‘23 of Yale University took home the title for the Bulldogs for the second year in a row! 


NORFOLK, VA (November 7, 2022) - 18 ILCA 7 and 19 ILCA 6 collegiate sailors arrived at Old Dominion University for the ICSA Singlehanded National Championships for the Janet Lutz and Glen S Foster Trophies. Sophia Montgomery ‘25 of Harvard University took home the Janet Lutz Trophy and Chapman Petersen ‘26 of Stanford University took home the Glen S. Foster Trophy.

On Saturday, racing started at 10 a.m. with winds around 5-8 knots from the Southeast. Throughout the day the breeze steadily built to 14-16 from the East Southeast. In the ILCA 6 Fleet, Sophia Montgomery ‘25 of Harvard University ended the day in the lead with 42 points. Hallie Schiffman ‘23 of Stanford University was in second with 44 points. Christine Reimer ‘24 of Bowdoin College finished off day one with 56 points.


The MCSA Fall Championship was held at Columbia Yacht Club in Chicago, IL on November 5-6, 2022. The University of Chicago won the event with 50 points. 


The Fall Championship has been announced and will occur on Nov 5-6 at Columbia Yacht Club in Chicago, IL.


The selections have been made for the College Sailing Fall National Championships. The Open and Women’s Singlehanded National Championships will be held in Norfolk, Virginia on November 5-6, 2022. The College Sailing Open Match Race National Championship will be held in San Diego, California on November 12-13, 2022.


The 2022 GLIOR was held this past weekend at Columbia Yacht Club in Chicago, IL. There were 21 collegiate teams in attendance and more than 170 sailors. Check-out the recap of this incredible event!


The MCSA Fall Season starts this week with the Acton Up Regatta Hosted at Miami of Ohio and the Fall Fury Fury regatta hosted by Wisconsin. 


After an extensive interview process, the ICSA has announced the organization's new Executive Director, Reed Maltbie. Serving as the ICSA's first Executive Director, Reed will oversee the day-to-day operations of College Sailing and serve the board of directors, conferences and teams that compete throughout North America.


Following the conclusion of the 2022 College Sailing National Championships, the ICSA has announced the 2022 All-America Team, Open and Women’s Sailor of the Year, Sportsman of the Year, Inductees to the ICSA Hall of Fame and the winner of the Leonard Fowle Trophy.
