A spotlight on the University of Michigan's sailing team who travelled south this spring for some warm weather sailing prior to the midwest season starting up!

ICSA is happy to announce the team representing all of ICSA on this years BUSA Tour. In all, roughly two dozen individuals applied. It was a tough list to make as all of those who applied were very deserving. The following student-athletes have been selected, and will be representing their schools and ICSA this year:

  • Olivia Belda, Brown University
  • Leo Boucher, St. Mary’s College of Maryland
  • Boyd Bragg, Dartmouth College
  • Spencer Cartwright, Roger Williams University
  • Patricia Gerli, Stanford University
  • Connor Nelson, Brown University
  • Noelle Owen, College of Charleston
  • Ciara Rodriguez-Horan, Tulane University

Congratulations to these deserving student-athletes!

Since 1959, the ICSA and the British Universities Sailing Association (BUSA) have taken part in a bi-annual competition where each organization sends a team of outstanding student-athletes across the Atlantic to compete against one another.  This summer, the ICSA will be sending a team to England to once again represent all of ICSA in “The Tour."

The ICSA-BUSA Tour has historically featured talented athletes on both sides who have gone onto represent their country in the Olympics, the America’s Cup, and much more.  Every 4 years the ICSA sends a team of our very best to compete against many of the best student-athletes from across the BUSA universities.

The 2021 edition of the Tour was postponed due to COVID-19, and is thankfully now back on for this summer.  The dates of the tour including travel will run between July 15-August 9, with a firmer set of dates and itinerary to follow in the coming weeks.

The MCSA Spring '22 (and Fall '22 tentative) schedules are now available.

The MCSA winter conference will be held on Saturday February 5th. This is an annual meeting where all association members are required to attend, regatta selection, executive board elections and more occur.

Congratulations to Leo Boucher from St. Mary's for winning the Glenn S Foster Trophy for the College Sailing Singlehanded Championship! Congratulations to Charlotte Rose from Jacksonville for winning the Janet Lutz Trophy for the College Sailing Women's Singlehanded National Championship!
