2022 Fall National Championship Fields Are Set

The selections have been made for the College Sailing Fall National Championships. The Open and Women’s Singlehanded National Championships will be held in Norfolk, Virginia on November 5-6, 2022. The College Sailing Open Match Race National Championship will be held in San Diego, California on November 12-13, 2022.

The National Championship Selection Committees are charged with selecting the most competitive field of At-Large Candidates for the National Championships. To be eligible, candidates must have competed in a corresponding Conference Championship in any ICSA conference. Selectors must honor the finishing order at any respective conference championship; to select the fourth place sailor in a conference, they must also select the second and third place candidates. Criteria for selection at the Open Singlehanded and Women’s Singlehanded include performances at ICSA Single and Doublehanded regattas throughout each candidate's ICSA career. Non-ICSA events may not be considered, and geographic distribution is also not to be considered. This method is the same for the Match Race selection process, where performances in Match Race and Doublehanded ICSA regattas throughout each candidate’s career are considered.  Non-ICSA regattas are again not considered for selection.  As in every year, the field of candidates was extraordinarily deep, and the committee worked diligently to determine the most competitive field of at-large candidates.
