NEISA Women’s Sailors of the Week, Weekend 4, Spring 2016


*** Williams/Kerr are named the NEISA WOMENS SAILORS OF THE WEEK***

Medford, MA—3/27/16 – Dartmouth’s Sarah Williams ‘16 and Sophie Kerr ‘17 are the NEISA Womens Sailors of the Week for helping lift the Big Green to victory at the Duplin Team Race Trophy hosted by Tufts University. Dartmouth had a 6-1 record after the first round robin, falling only to the home team. In the final 4, the Big Green bested Brown and Yale but succumbed to the Jumbos again. Dartmouth finished with an 8-2 record, two wins better than second place. The Duplin Trophy, named after long time Tufts head coach, Joe Duplin, is one of the only all Women’s team racing regatta in College Sailing.

***Around the Conference***

At the Staake Team Race Trophy hosted by Connecticut College, teams were vying to qualify for the New England Team Racing Championship. The University of Rhode Island and Connecticut College secured the final two spots and will face Coast Guard, Boston College, Yale, Harvard, Boston University, Dartmouth, MIT, Roger Williams University, Brown and Bowdoin in two weekends. Dartmouth College took second place at the Admiral Moore Team Race at SUNY Maritime. At the BC Team Race, Yale took first with an 11-4 record. Brown University led the one-day Central Series at BU, and then Boston University won the BU Team Race the following day.
