NEISA Sailors of the Week, Weekend 5, Fall 2019


*** Burnes and Wang are the NEISA Co-ed Sailors of the Week***

St. Mary’s City, MD – 10/9/19 – Eli Burnes ’21 and Emily Wang ’21 are the NEISA Coed Sailors of the Week for their A-Division Performance at the Coed Showcase hosted by St. Mary’s College. The duo won A-Division and helped Harvard finish second overall. The Crimson will advance to the Showcase Finals in two weeks. 

***Burn and Williams are the NEISA Women Sailors of the Week***

New London, CT – 10/9/19 – Sarah Burn ‘23 and Jessica Williams ’20 of Harvard University are the NEISA Women’s Sailors of the Week after winning B-division at the Stu Nelson Regatta hosted by Connecticut College.  The pair from Harvard sailed consistently throughout the regatta to finish 19 points ahead of the next sailor. Their performance helped lead their team to a second-place finish overall. 

 

Around the District

 

NEISA dominated the Coed Showcase hosted by St. Mary’s with Boston University winning and Harvard, Coast Guard, Boston College, and Dartmouth rounding out the top 5 and Tufts qualifying for the finals in 9th. At the Truxton Umsted Showcase hosted by Navy, Yale, MIT, Connecticut College, and Bowdoin College advanced to the Showcase Finals in two weeks hosted by Connecticut College. 

Yale won the Hewitt Trophy, while Brown won the George Warren Smith Trophy. At the Protest Regatta Tufts placed first and URI won the Great Herring Pond Open.
