NEISA Sailors of the Week, Spring 2026, March 7-8

Annapolis, MD – 3/9/26 - The Brown Bears have been awarded The NEISA Women’s Sailors of the Week honors for their performance at the Jen Harris Team Race. The Bears’ 8-1 record earned them a 2nd place finish behind Stanford at the highly competitive event. Due to the light winds on Sunday prohibiting any racing, the results stood with 80% of the initial round completed, the minimum threshold for official completion. Due to this quirk, the Bears did not get a chance to race Stanford but had been poised to face off against the Cardinal for the regatta victory in the final race of the round. The bears were led by starters Laura Hamilton ’27, Katherine Majette ’27, Katharine Doble ’26, Reese Corckran ’28, Katherine McNamara ’26, and Gabby Collins ’28. Sidney Moyer ’27 took over for McNamara in two races and Leila Pfrang took over for Majette in one race.

Washington, DC – 3/9/26 – The Boston College Eagles have been awarded The NEISA Open Sailors of the week for their victory at the John Jackson Memorial Team Race. After a perfect 7-0 record in the first round, the Eagles lost a race to Georgetown in the 2nd round robin that was later shortened to a final four due to wind and time constraints. This left the Eagles and Hoyas tied at a 9-1 record, well above the rest of the field, with a 1-1 head-to-head record necessitating a tiebreaking sail-off for 1st place. Boston College won the sail-off over Georgetown in a close 2-3-5 combination to claim the 2026 edition of the John Jackson. The Eagles showed their depth with five skippers and crews sharing time at their respective positions. Peter Busch ’26, Jack Redmond ’26, Peter Joslin ’26, Caroline Sibilly ’26, and Tanner Krygsveld ’29 spent time at the skipper position while Sibilly, Lanie Ferrarone ’28, Christian Yanoti ’29, Brooke Bergendahl ’28, and Sydney Lombard ’29 split time crewing.
