Providence, RI - 3/2/26 - The Yale Bulldogs have been awarded The NEISA Women’s Sailors of the Week honors! The Yale Team won seven races and lost only one in the Harvard Women’s Team Race at Brown. Dorothy Mendelblatt ‘28, Julia Miller ‘26, Elle Sykes ‘27, Carmen Berg ‘26, Ella Benedetto ‘29, Carly Kieding ‘29 and Sarah Moeder ‘26 all played a role in their team’s performance. Their only loss was to Ivy foe, Dartmouth. Several of the Yale Women also helped their Open earn a fourth place finish in the Liam O’Keefe Trophy on Saturday. Mendelblatt, Miller, Benedetto and Kieding all sailed in both regattas. Yale Coach, Zack Leonard ‘88, lauded his team’s efforts in saying, “We were really happy with the start our team made. We hadn’t practiced yet this year but our sailors grasped their roles and kept improving all weekend.”
Providence, RI - 3/2/26 - The Harvard Crimson have been named the NEISA Open Sailors of the Week for their victory in the Liam O’Keefe Trophy at Brown last Saturday. The Cantabs won all seven races in the round robin regatta. Justin Callahan ‘26, Christina Chen ‘27, Aidan Pesce ‘26, Mitchell Callahan ‘26, Rosella Irfan ‘27, Robby Meek ‘27 and Jacob Posner ‘29 represented Harvard. Harvard Coach, Lior Lavie, said of his team’s performance, “The focus was clear from the start, execute well off the line, gain control early, and keep decision making disciplined and simple throughout the racecourse. I am proud of how they carried themselves both on and off the water, and the fact that every sailor was ready to step in and perform at any moment during the day.”
