Seven schools from last year’s championship will be returning to compete for the national title but of these, only three teams will be led by the same skippers. Brown’s Liam O’Keefe ‘26, Charleston’s Axel Stordahl ‘24, and Georgetown’s Jeffery Petersen ‘25 all placed in the top four last year and will surely bring a strong performance on the water. Defending champion, Yale University, will be returning with a new skipper, freshman Morgan Pinckney '27. At the NEISA Match Race Championship, Pinckney and team finished a strong 3rd place behind Brown (1st) and CGA (2nd). Alongside Pinckney, there will be two other freshman skippers leading their team at this event, Stanford’s Thomas Sitzmann and Tulane’s Hamilton Barclay. Jacksonville and Navy are back on the scene after last competing in the Match Race Nationals in 2021. Chicago University joins the field after winning their MCSA Conference Championship.
